Darts is very popular all over the world and a lot of people have a dartboard in their homes so that they can play with their friends or family. There are a lot of different games in darts, which is one of the many reasons for its popularity.

There are many dart games that are famous among dart players and Around the World (also known as Around the Clock) is one of those games. This game is best for rookies in darts because this game does not focus only on higher target areas but it gives equal attention to all the target areas on the board.

There are many games in darts that are very hard to understand but among all of these games Around the World is one of the simplest games that anyone from beginner-level players to intermediate-level players can play.

This game is not only fun to play but also helps you increase your accuracy. Many people play this game as an exercise to improve and perfect their precision.

Number of Players

The Around the World Darts can be played by One or more players. It can be played by as many players as you see fit. This game is a good solo game to practice your skill but to have fun you can play this game between more players or it can also be played in different groups.

Rules of Around the World Dart Game

Now let’s take a closer look at the Rules of Around the World (also known as Around the Clock). The rules of this game are quite simple and easy to understand, all you have to do is hit every single number on the board followed by the bulls-eye in sequential order.

The game starts with each player trying to hit the number that has to be hit in their turn on the board in sequential order. The interesting thing about this game is that hitting the double and triples does not have any effect. Let’s suppose if a player hits a double or triple of number 10 it will remain 10.

Each player gets to throw darts in their turn and the player gets to move to the next number only if they successfully hit the required number in their turn. If somehow you are unable to hit the required number in your turn then your turn is up.

The game ends if one of the players reaches 20 and hits the bulls-eye and the first one to do it wins the game.

Optional Rules

There are some optional rules for the player who goes first and wins first. There is an advantage to the player whose turn is first in this game. To make it fair for everyone it is possible that all the player gets an equal number of turns.

If a player who goes first in this game wins the game to make it fair for everyone all the remaining players are given one turn to try and tie the game. But that rule doesn’t apply to the player who wins in the last turn because the game ends in that turn and that player wins.

Scoring System of Around The World Darts

There is no scoring system per se because there is no score to record. This game is not about who gets the higher score because this game is more of a race where the player who goes around the board first wins the game.

At the end of each turn, the player who is the furthest on the board is said to be in the lead. The main goal of this game is to hit each number on the board once and go around the clock.

The player who goes around the clock and hit the bulls-eye first wins the game.

Tie Breakers Rule

A tiebreaker round begins after a player hits 20 plus the bulls-eye in the same round and the next player also does the same in their turn to tie the game. A tiebreaker round consists of the two players throwing darts until one of the players hit the inner circle of the bulls-eye.

Variations of Around the World

There are different variations in Around the World. In one variation of this game, all the rules were the same except you don’t have to hit each number once but you have to hit it three times in order to get to the next number.

In this version each hit carries 1 point the single is one point, the double is two, and the triple is worth 3 points. There is one more thing that is different and that is the bull is not used in this version.

Another variation of this game is to add a turn limit such as each player only has a certain amount of turns to hit each number or you have to finish the game in a certain amount of turns. You can add different types of rules to make the game more fun and exciting.

Conclusion

Around the World is a fun game that can be enjoyed by all ages and skill levels. It’s a game that allows for many hours of entertainment for both children and adults.
